Our Team

David Coker CEO

David started his career in the power industry in 1986 after leaving college…without a degree. At that time, David became an operator for Houston Lighting and Power at the Limestone Lignite Plant. He spent six years as an operator before he went back to school and earned his accounting degree. After spending almost two years with Deloitte and Touche, David returned to HL&P as a gas buyer and eventually started trading power. Four years later, David left that job to become an ERCOT power broker where he spent four years before moving to Energy Transfer in 2009 to manage their power. In 2010, David formed Energy Transfer Retail Power to self supply Energy Transfer in the ERCOT Market and eventually expanded to the PJM Market. His responsibilities expanded beyond purchasing power to managing all utilities for the company.

Chance Turner COO

After graduating with a BBA, Chance started his career at a local distribution cooperative, building and maintaining powerlines. When an opportunity arose to further his knowledge, he moved to another cooperative and started working in C&I project management/account representation. In 2016 after spending almost a decade in the utility world, Chance moved into the Power Optimization Group at Energy Transfer as an Analyst and worked his way up to a Manager. Over the last 8 years Chance has had the opportunity to experience a wide range of situations that arise when managing new projects and existing assets. Coordination of utility interconnections, troubleshooting asset power and bill related issues, to managing ERCOT ancillary service programs are just a few areas that highlight the broad range of experience he offers.

Mark Shackleford CFO

Mark began his career in energy with Reliant Energy in 2001 where he worked as an analyst in the structuring group supporting wholesale trading. As ERCOT deregulated, his role included pricing C&I offers for the retail side of the company. Mark joined Keystone Energy Partners in 2005 which was set up to provide supply for retail electric providers in ERCOT many of whom were unhedged. In 2007, Mark played a major role as Keystone started their own REP, Kinetic Energy. Between 2012 and 2014, Mark worked as a consultant advising several REPs and eventually did some work with Energy Transfer that led to his joining the company. At Energy Transfer, his role expanded from analyst to Senior Manager overseeing the power group where his team handled power requests, invoicing, consolidations and the retail electric business among other responsibilities.
